Yesterday Joel, Bob (Joel’s dad), and I went to the lake again. The guys managed to drop the rudder with a bit of help from Schmitty (the guy who is basically groundskeeper of the marina). I was at work swabbing the galley (yet again… so much dust from Joel’s various sanding attempts). I also repainted the part of the hull that will lie directly behind the nav. station. Joel continued grinding away at the keel, and Bob worked on tightening up the lifelines and stanctions. By the end of the day we were all coated in sweat, grit, dust, and grime… so, we all indulged in showers there at the marina. Oh yeah, and we made Joel take us to Dairy King in Breese and get us burgers, spicy chicken sandwiches, and chocolate ice cream… lol. All in all, it was a pretty productive day.

How awesome is it that the marina guy’s name is actually Schmitty? I thought that only happened in movies and maritime novels.
Dairy King is Heaven on Earth!
